Houston Feng ShuiTexas

Classical feng shui · Greater Houston

Your house is already facing a direction. Let's work with it.

On-site and floorplan consultations for homes and small businesses across Houston. I take a compass reading at your door, map the rooms to the nine palaces, and leave you with a written plan — furniture, colors, entries, timing — that you can carry out on your own schedule.

The still center of the house

Every reading starts here. Stand in the middle of your floorplan and the eight directions arrange themselves around you — that's the map I work from. Tap any direction on the compass to see what it governs and what it usually means in a Houston house.

Consultations

Five ways people usually start

Most clients come in at one of these points. If you're not sure which one you are, send the address and I'll tell you.

On site · 2–3 hours

Full home reading

I walk the property with a luopan, take the facing bearing at the front door, and check every room against the floorplan. You get bed, desk, and stove placement, entry corrections, and a color plan by room.

Remote · Before you sign

Floorplan & lot review

For new builds in Bridgeland, Elyson, Cross Creek Ranch and the rest — send me the builder's plan and lot orientation before the slab is poured. Changing a pantry wall on paper costs nothing.

On site · Commercial

Business & retail

Restaurants, salons, clinics, and offices. Register placement, entry flow, seating orientation for the owner, and where the money-holding corner falls in your lease space.

Remote · Annual

Yearly star update

The flying stars move each year. A short annual review tells you which rooms to activate, which corner to leave quiet, and what to do about the direction under repair this year.

Remote · Date selection

Timing for work

Breaking ground, moving in, opening day, first dig on a pool. I'll give you a short list of workable dates and the ones to avoid, tied to the house and to you.

Follow-up · Included

The 60-day check

Every on-site reading includes a call two months later. You'll have questions once furniture actually moves — that's the point of the call, and it costs nothing extra.

How a reading runs

In order, because the order matters

01

The bearing at the threshold

I stand at your front door and take three readings with the compass, averaged. This single number — your facing degree — decides almost everything that follows, so it's worth getting right.

02

The floorplan onto the nine palaces

Your plan gets overlaid with the grid you see above. Now every room has a direction, an element, and a set of stars sitting in it.

03

Room by room, in person

We walk it together. Beds, desks, stove, front door, water. I'll tell you what's working, what's fighting itself, and what I'd leave alone.

04

The written plan

Within a week you get a PDF: floorplan markups, a room-by-room list of changes ranked by impact, and colors and materials with actual product-level specificity. No mystery homework.

05

The 60-day call

You'll have moved things by then and hit two or three snags. We work through them on a call. Included.

Local conditions

What comes up in Houston houses

Feng shui is a set of principles, but it always lands on a specific piece of ground. These are the patterns I see here again and again.

The garage is the real face of the house

Front-loading garages dominate our subdivisions, and the door most people actually use is not the door the house was designed around. That gap changes the reading — and there's usually a simple fix.

West-facing glass and 4 p.m.

A wall of west windows in a Houston summer is not a neutral condition. Fire in the west sits badly with metal, and it's also just uncomfortable. Shade strategy is a feng shui decision here.

Bayous, detention ponds, and drainage

Water near a home is powerful and direction-dependent. Whether the ditch behind your lot helps or drains you depends entirely on which side it sits and which way it runs.

Cul-de-sacs and T-junctions

Master-planned streets create a lot of homes sitting at the end of a straight run of pavement. Fast, direct energy at the front door is manageable, but it should be managed deliberately.

Slab foundations that move

Our clay shifts. Cracks, sticking doors, and settled corners are a structural issue first — but a house that can't close its own doors also can't hold anything. Fix the slab, then we talk placement.

Humidity and the wood element

Damp corners, stale air, and struggling plants are all readable. Getting air moving through the east and southeast of a home is one of the cheapest, highest-return changes here.

Questions

Before you book

Do I have to redecorate my whole house?

No. Most plans have three or four changes that carry the real weight and a longer list of optional refinements. I rank them, so you can do the top of the list this weekend and sit with it.

Is this religious?

It isn't. Classical feng shui is a system for reading orientation, time, and landform. People of every faith and none use it, and nothing I recommend asks you to believe anything in particular.

What do you need from me beforehand?

A floorplan if you have one — the builder's PDF or an MLS listing plan works fine — plus the birth years of the people living there and the year the home was built or last fully renovated.

Can you do this remotely?

For floorplan reviews and annual updates, yes, and it works well. For a full home reading I'd rather stand at the door myself; a phone compass and a satellite image aren't accurate enough to build a plan on.

We're buying — should you look before we make an offer?

Yes, and that's the cheapest time to involve me. A short pre-purchase read on two or three finalists usually costs less than one inspection.
